Anyone know what kind of worm this is?

I found a bunch of these out in my rain soaked asparagus bed. They move like earthworms but are so small and white. I was thinking perhaps they are infant earthworms but, and this is making me feel a fool to confess, I don't know if such a thing exists? I really should google to find out now that I've made this confession!

Those look like baby earthworms.
Congratulations!

My guess is potworms (enchytraeidae). They are composters, no harm to live plants, and thrive in slightly acidic moist soil environments with lots of decomposing humus - which, I am assuming perfectly describes your asparagus bed since asparagus favor slightly acidic soil (ph around 6) and it is the rainy season. I wouldn't worry a bit. Just my two cents.

Thank you for that! Fabulous! I looked it up and reading about worms was quite fun. I may have to do an entire worm post now! :)
